The Hidden Manifestation Book by Oliver Mercer: Scam or Legit?

Illustration of a fictional book titled 'Hidden Manifestation' by Oliver Mercer, with a sleek design and mystical elements highlighting themes of intrigue and manifestation.

The Hidden Manifestation book by Oliver Mercer has gained attention in the manifestation community. Is it a scam? When I first heard about this book, I did extensive research on it, as I was skeptical whether it was legitimate or just another scam.

The YouTuber’s channel name is “Inspired at Random.” He helped me clear my doubts, and you should also read this entire post so that you too can protect yourself from this scam. Based on my findings and a video by a YouTuber, we’ll explore the truth behind this book today.

Guerrilla Marketing Tactics and AI-Generated Content

They do not have a genuine product to sell. What they do is use AI to generate chapters, compile them into a book, and then employ guerrilla marketing tactics. For example, they post comments like these, very innocuous comments that seem organic.

This time around, they are using more names. We’ve got this Matthew Thompson guy. We’ve got Matthew Thompson again. We’ve got undefined Maxwell. And by the way, this is yet another scam.

And then there’s Whispers of Manifestation on Borlest. All of this is a pattern. I just want to run through the modus operandi of these guys. They use a variety of comments on manifestation-related videos.

Oliver Mercer: Comment Manipulation and Fake Engagement Explained

They drive a lot of likes to these comments. Notice that one has 66 likes, 42 likes, and fewer likes than Whispers of Manifestation, by the way. One has 405 likes. What about the next one? 521. The one beneath it has 206.

When you see these comments beneath a piece of content by a solid creator, they lead you to a sales page. The funny thing is, not too long ago, they even had one where they tried to tell you to beware:

This is the official site. Other sites are just trying to scam you.

Also, they said this on their website:

NOTE: Unfortunately, this ebook is on the blacklist, and it’s only a matter of time before our website is shut down, so there’s a high chance that this ebook will disappear forever. If you don’t grab this ebook right now, you might regret it later. While you’re doubting yourself and overthinking, others are applying these techniques and making cash. See you on the other side.

Does Oliver Mercer Even Exist?

I tried looking for Oliver Mercer as an author, but the closest I could find was a book by Oliver Gillie and Derek Mercer.

A comment states:

“I read this book a year ago, and you should read it too,”

while other comments mention that this book is not available on sites like Amazon, etc., and question where to buy it. Additionally, the website selling the book has only been around for four months. So, I think you understand what I am saying.

Buyer Psychology and Manifestation

When these people choose names, they have this kind of strategy as well. The previous book that I covered, Whispers of Manifestation, tries to play on the whispers method by Neville Goddard.

In this case, they’re leveraging the fact that when people search without paying much attention, especially those who really want to manifest something and desire quick results they may fall for it.

I want to tie this back into manifestation: this is actually a lifestyle choice. It’s not just about listening to some audio, reading a few chapters of a book, or making certain affirmations.

Manifestation is a conscious, ongoing lifestyle practice. You do all these things to generate the lifestyle results you want by creating an inner transformation that reflects outwardly in your life.

They’re playing on buyer psychology here.

The YouTuber “Inspired at Random” shared their perspective on the Whispers of Manifestation scam. They mentioned that they often receive comments like:

  • “Where can I download it?”
  • “Where can I buy it?”
  • “What’s the right place?”

Their response highlights the deeper issue: “Seriously. You’re missing the point. Wake up. If you want to manifest, you have to start thinking like a co-creator of your life, not just a consumer. You’re stuck in a consumer trance right now. Break out of this! Do the exercises that I recommend in my other videos.”

Exploiting Platforms Like Borlest and Gumroad

They like to exploit Borlest and Gumroad platforms because you can fudge the number of ratings. 19,166 ratings with an overall 4.9 out of 5 for an unknown book by an unknown author. How is that even possible?

I actually did a check. I found someone on Instagram with this exact name, Oliver Mercer. I think he’s a photographer or someone involved in stage design. I also found a similar person on X.com. It’s definitely not a manifestation author.

The closest match, as I already mentioned, is not related. Right now, what they’re doing is having an exit strategy. The bundle is selling for $200. It plays on the popular program by Reagan Hillier, The Art of Manifesting. They’ve cleverly named their program The Art of Manifestation.

Legitimate Resources for Manifestation Enthusiasts

These people know how to manipulate the search algorithms. They’ve figured out that comments will show up in search results as well. It’s a very quick way to get online attention. When people search, they’ll find these comments appearing on more and more platforms, even TikTok and Reddit.

For those who are not fluent in English or for whom English is a second language, they might think:

“Okay, people are talking about it. Let’s buy it—it’s real.”

The thing is, if you’re truly interested in changing your life, there are many legitimate books and PDFs you can download online by authors like Neville Goddard, Eckhart Tolle, Earl Nightingale, and Bob Proctor.

Conclusion & Final Warnings

I hope I’ve addressed some of the questions and mysteries you might have had. This is a scam, as I’ve already explained, detailing how they use AI to create this book, fake comments, likes under videos, and other deceptive tactics to sell it. If you want to read a manifestation-related book, choose genuine ones. I have also written an article on manifestation books, where I’ve described some books in detail. You can read that article to find a book, and it will guide you better in your manifestation journey.
